Florida’s Nonprofit Laws Have Changed
Florida has significantly updated Chapter 617, now known as the Florida Nonprofit Corporation Act. The changes took effect July 1, 2026, and affect areas including board governance, member rights, virtual meetings, electronic notices, conflicts of interest, corporate records and more.
Nonprofit boards and leaders should review their bylaws, governing documents and internal procedures to determine whether any updates are needed.
